CIAA is a private, not-for-profit service agency committed to serving seniors, family caregivers, and grandparents raising grandchildren. One of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Illinois and one of over 728 in the United States, CIAA is authorized by the Older Americans Act of 1965 as amended, Illinois Act on Aging, and the Illinois Department on Aging to provide services to older persons and their caregivers in Fulton, Marshall, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford counties.

CIAA’s GUIDING PRINCIPLES are:
BELIEVE in the independence and dignity of older persons
EMPOWER older persons to exert control over his or her own life
INCREASE ACCESS to needed service of quality
TARGET services to older persons with greatest economic and social need
DEVELOP SERVICES based on the needs and priorities of older persons

 

DIRECT SERVICES provided directly by CIAA are:
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT – creation of new services,
or expansion / improvement of existing services
ADMINISTRATION – plan, develop, manage, monitor,
and evaluate services
ADVOCACY – represent and support older person to get services and benefits
COORDINATION – CIAA works with agencies to develop a network of services and benefits
