Circuit Breaker / Pharmaceutical Assistance / Senior Care
Program
Provides eligible seniors and the disabled assistance with:
prescription cards, property tax/rent grant, license plate
discounts, and other resources.
CIRCUITBREAKER
The Circuit Breaker Program is administered by the Illinois
Department on Aging. The Circuit Breaker Pharmaceutical
Assistance program provides prescription drug coverage for
specific diseases. You may qualify if you are at least 65 years
old, or are a person designated as disabled.

ILLINOIS SENIORCARE
Illinois SeniorCare is administered by the Illinois
Department of Public Aid. Illinois SeniorCare covers most
prescription drugs and some over-the-counter drugs if a doctor
prescribes them. You may qualify if you are at least 65 years
old, and meet specific income requirements.
If you qualify for Circuit Breaker or
SeniorCare, you may also qualify for a property tax/rent grant
and a $54 discount on your license plates.
ILLINOIS RX BUYING CLUB
The Illinois Rx Buying Club provides discounts on all
prescription drugs approved by the FDA and available through
participating pharmacies and a mail-order option. You may
qualify if you are at least 65 years old, or are a person
designated as disabled.
MEDICARE-APPROVED DRUG DISCOUNT CARDS
If you are a medicare participant, you may now get a
Medicare-approved discount card offering discounts on
prescription drugs. Beginning on May 1, 2004 Medicare enrollees
began signing up for a discount card, choosing from nearly 70
Medicare-approved cards.
